As a Creative Technologist, you will drive customer experience innovation from a technical point ofview, pushing the boundaries of complex services and solutions that are simple, relevant, and human centered. Will work across teams to help with pitching, inventing, and producing a varietyof digital products. This role blends design, technology, development, and production withknowledge of business and operations. You will take products from ideation to prototype to reality. 
Design & Develop Technical Solutions 

  • Works to identify design needs, define requirements, assist in design planning, activities and execution
  • Provides user experience design expertise
  • Brings design aesthetic to bear in creating the best user experience throughout each product
  • Delivers models, information architecture, flows, wireframes, and prototypes
  • Develops technical solutions for a variety of experiences, utilizing an array of traditional hardware, software and emerging technologies
  • Co-creates, tests, and implements proof of concepts with product
  • Partners in the strategy development – connecting new concepts to business needs
  • Partners with internal and external technical teams to plan for, deploy and support experiences in a range ofdifferent environments
  • Discusses and explains solutions with both technical and non-technical team members 
  • Stays abreast of the latest technologies and identifies ways to utilize them
  • Shares new technologies with the team to inspire current and future concept ideation and creation 


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, design or related program
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a UX designer/creative technologist/front-end developer on an Innovation or like team
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates not only your designs, but tells the story of how you were integral to theoverall design process 
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5; fluency in one or more of Python, PHP, Ruby, C, C++, Java
  • Must have a demonstrable understanding in tailoring web-based projects to desktop and mobile
  • Strong understanding of mobile application design for varying screen sizes - iOS and Android - and familiarity with Apple and Google standards
  • Experience in unconventional hardware and software platforms: wearable technology, sensors, wireless technology, computer vision, gesture and voice recognition
  • Solid understanding of creative development and digital technologies used in the field for design and rapid prototyping: Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch/Invision/Zeplin, OmniGraffle, Axure
  • Experience building prototypes and projects with SoC computers like Raspberry Pi, and open source microcontrollers like Arduino
  • Experience deploying projects to Cloud services like Heroku or AWS
  • Fluency in the principles of user-centered design methods, information architecture, usability, and interface and interaction design
  • Creative and strategic thinker and the ability to ideate, collaborate, innovate and execute
  • Experience in rapid prototyping, lean and agile development methodologies
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation and presentation skills, including visual storytelling
  • Strong organization skills as well as a high tolerance for ambiguity and the demonstrated ability to influence without authority
  • Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams within business, design and research
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Understanding of the retail industry and how it is changing
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and passionate about emerging technologies
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to test fast and learn fast
