This position in the Budget and Planning department, will be responsible for applying professional knowledge of the concepts and principles of accounting in preparing complex financial statements and reports as needed in support of NCA&T faculty, staff and departmental needs. It will perform a variety of accounting duties such as verification, reconciliation, report preparation and analysis and accounting ledger entries associated with accounting matters. Prepare and verify accounting transaction codes, balances, accounting entries, maintain and report on the records relating to a department’s fiscal operations. Resolve routine problems and establish new processes when applicable. Duties involve all or part of a complete accounting cycle such as billing, receipts, deposits, expenditures, reconciliation of bank statements, ledger, posting, balancing, and control, and preparation of financialreports, all of which require a knowledge and understanding of accounting principles. Verify eligibility of expense per policy and availability of funds. Code and process invoices. Follow up (return paperwork if necessary) with requestors regarding incomplete paperwork or lack of documentation.
