This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-paced and dynamic product development team focused on developing solutions for patients suffering from heart failure. The candidate will contribute to the development of the first and second generation minimally invasive delivery systems.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Conceptualize, design, and develop complex interventional delivery system devices including establishing design requirements, generating design concepts, prototyping and evaluating  design
  • Design, test and develop minimally-invasive catheter-based delivery systems in accordance with specifications, medical guidance, and regulatory safety standards
  • Develop and qualify test methods and procedures to be used in device qualification testing
  • Generate test protocols, reports and supporting documentation for design verification purposes
  • Solve design, process and testing problems at the component through system level
  • Document design requirements, designs, drawings and processes in conformance with Edwards design control procedures
  • Mentor junior level technical staff


An effective candidate must have hands-on skills with the proven ability to independently apply technical knowledge and judgment to complex technical problems. Technical proficiency specific to mechanical problem solving in medical device design and testing is required.

  • Catheter design experiencerequired
  • Demonstrated design and testing expertise in the medical device field
  • Demonstrated project ownership and accountability for project results
  • Ability to solve technical problems as well as identify and implement practical solutions based on device requirements and project timelines is an important skill set
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, including hands-on skills with proven ability to apply technical knowledge and judgment to complex technical problems is required
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary; this position will require extensive cross-functional collaboration
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter able to achieve results with minimal direction
  • Must be proactive and creative in solving technical problems with limited amount of data/information
  • Enjoys working in a changing, fast paced environment
  • Proficient in Solidworks modeling

Education Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanicalengineering and five years of industry experience OR a master's degree in engineering and a minimum of four years of industry experience
