S. Webster Inc - Executive Search is a retained executive search firm, which specializes in senior finance executives. We are conducting a national search for an experienced, strategic CFO for a high-growth capital equipment manufacturer of laboratory equipment..

The Company: 

This profitable high-growth private company develops and manufactures laboratory equipment which is in high demand by leading life science companies; their products are also essential tools in laboratories in other industries, e.g. chemical companies, government and university laboratories. The company is experiencing rapid growth and exciting new revenue opportunities through licensing their proprietary technology.

The company is profitable, with strong cash reserve and aggressive R&D and business development programs. The company is an attractive acquisition target, and has turned down multiple offers. They will execute a major liquidity event within 24 - 36 months.The CEO has a successful track record and is well respected by the investment community. A world-class senior management team supports the CEO. The corporate culture is congenial, high-energy and success oriented.

Location: This position is located in the Raleigh / Durham Area in North Carolina. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Position Description:

This position calls for a senior finance executive experienced in all aspects of corporate finance both strategic and operational. The CFO will be in charge of the company's financial strategy, and an integral part of formulating the company's overall corporate growth strategy. The CFO will work closely with the CEO, providing analysis, forecasting, projections and reporting to inform the CEO's decisions, as well as developing metrics to measure success.

The CFO we are looking for will have the experience to look behind the numbers and understand the market dynamics, economic and regulatory events driving those numbers. The CFO will hold oversight responsibility for all of the finance department's functions.

The CFO will work with the CEO on the development and implementation of the company's short and long term goals, strategies and tactics, while preparing the company for a major liquidity event within an approximate 24-36 months timeline.

We need a combination hands on operational executive and financial strategist, who enjoys people and working in a cooperative environment with multiple personality types. We need a strong CFO who can work with the CEO to open new markets, grow existing markets, perform accurate strategic financial assessments of proposed projects, and help the company prioritize these projects based on potential short and long-term benefits.

Ideal Experience:

To be considered, candidates should have 15 years of progressive experience as a corporate finance executive. The candidate should have a minimum of 4-7 years industry experience as a CFO or equivalent top finance executive of a profitable manufacturing company and be experienced in all aspects of the senior finance role, including FP&A, treasury, asset allocation, risk management, reporting and compliance.

Analyzing and anticipating the impact of market dynamics and developing successful financial strategies in response

Strong analysis, modeling and forecasting skills

Financial planning and budgeting

Reporting and compliance

Treasury and cash management

Familiar with the various forms of Debt and equity financing

Experienced at the successful implementation of financial systems, internal controls, KPIs and metrics

Experienced in providing strategic support for the business development and sales divisions

Work effectively with banks, the capital market, investors and outside audit firms

Strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills

Articulate, with strong written and verbal skills. Able to make effective financial presentations

Minimum 4-yeardegree, MBA or postgraduate degree a plus

Compensation:

The compensation package will include: an employment contract, base salary of $275k - $325k, guaranteed and performance based bonus structure, equity, benefits and relocation assistance.
