The Lead Designer is responsible for initiating and developing engineering drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project's electrical engineers. The Lead Designer will work under the direction of the ElectricalDesign Supervisor and the Supervising Discipline Engineer (SDE) to develop and maintain digital 3D databases and models, develop electrical engineering drawings and sketches of high complexity, check and review electrical drawings, review other discipline and vendor drawings and coordinates work with other project team members.
10+ years of progressive designexperience in electrical systems.
Must have in depth knowledge of SmartPlant 3D, SmartSketch and SmartPlant Electricaldesignexperience.
Must have experience in design development, drawing preparation, and checking processes.
Must have experience in using SmartPlant Instrumentation.
Must have in depth knowledge of Microsoft Access.
Must have experience of performing lighting calculations with Visual Lighting software.
Must have a basic understanding of engineering calculations and information required on design drawings.
Must have experience in performing electrical Material Take Off (MTO) activities using manual methods and computer applications such as SP3D, SPEL and SPI data extraction.
Must have experience in project change control.
Must have U.S. Citizenship.
Must not have Dual Citizenship.
Associates Degree in computer aided drafting with an electrical emphasis or equivalent experience.
Working knowledge of Autodesk software including AutoCAD, REVIT, and AutoCAD Plant 3D or other general plant modeling/drafting CAD software platform.
Working knowledge and experience in using cable management systems and automatic cable routing.
DOE/DOD project experience.
